Jihad’s Aunt & her 8 children

Kholoud (mother of 8)

This fundraiser supports Kholoud, Jihad’s aunt — a mother of eight. Her husband was killed when their home was bombed, and his body is still beneath the rubble, 2 years later. She and her children have been living in a tent unable to get the support they need, are cold, malnourished, and scared. Kholoud’s nephew Jihad, also a GivetoGaza family, requested we start a campaign for his family in order for them to get the support they need to survive.

“My children are dying before my eyes,” she writes. “My 8 children go to the bathroom without a light, hungry. I am a mother, and my heart cannot bear to see my children in these tragic circumstances. Please help us.”

Her youngest is 3 who’s malnourished and sick. and the children are currently going hungry. Nights are the hardest — there’s no electricity, no light, it is cold, and they do not have enough warm blankets. For the past two years the bombing has terrified them, and the sound of the planes and tanks makes them feel extremely panicked. They do not feel safe.

Kholoud’s foot is injured, and one of her sons has a stomach wound that needs treatment. She has no income and no way to buy food or medicine.

A typical day of food for her family would cost at least $60:
• $20 for breakfast (bread, eggs, cheese)
• $20 for lunch (rice, vegetables, stew, spices, firewood) • $20 for dinner(rice, vegetables, spices, stew, firewood) they desperately want/need protein.

All donations go directly to Kholoud to cover hygiene supplies, food, medicine, and other essentials to help keep her family alive after all that has been taken from her. That would cost at least $1000 a month just for her family of 9. But they get almost NO DONATIONS at this time.

Amira & Family

Amira (28)

"I am Amira, 28 years old, a mother of two young children whose only sin is that they were born into this life amidst so much pain. My daughter, Mira, is four years old, dreams of a small toy and a loss of security. My son, Waseem, is only two months old. I hold him in my arms and try to hide the cruelty of life from him.

My husband is injured and unable to work, and I have no choice but to pray and ask for help from compassionate people.

My house is overflowing with needs, and my children are in dire need of what they need to survive. I appeal to everyone with the ability to extend a helping hand. Even a little help can mean a lot; it might feed a child or warm a shivering little body.

Help me for Mira and Waseem. Help me see their smiles again."
